Booking & Availability
When are farm tours available?
Farm tours run in the summer months, from April to October, weather permitting. There are usually 3 tours per day: in the morning, afternoon and evening. You can check our online booking form for available tour dates and times.
Is booking required?
Yes. All tours must be booked in advance. You can book online or call us on 01598 752 310.
How do I pay for my booking?
You can pay by cash, cheque, BACS, or card. All prices include VAT, and you can request a VAT receipt .
Are private tours available?
Yes — private bookings can be arranged for families, school groups, or special occasions. Contact us directly to discuss your needs.
Do you offer school or educational tours?
Yes — we love hosting educational groups. Please get in touch to tailor the experience to your curriculum or age group.

Where can I find your ticket prices?

Do you charge extra for dogs?
We allow up to two well‑behaved dogs to come on our tours for a small charge (they must be on leads, lie quietly on the wagon floor, and not go up on the seats)
Arrival & Parking
What time should I arrive for the tour?
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled tour start time.
Is parking available?
Yes — there is dedicated parking on-site. On arrival, please park your vehicle as directed.
Tour Details
How long is the farm tour?
Tours typically last about 2½ hours, covering areas not normally open to the public .
What should I bring?
Wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing as the tours take place outside and parts of the the farm are exposed to the elements.
Can we get off the trailer during the tour?
The tour can include an optional flat / downhill walk over open moorland. Please bring appropriate footwear and clothing.
There may be designated stops along the route where we stop to feed animals depending on the weather and time of year.
Are there toilets available on-site?
Yes, toilet facilities are available at the farm before and after the tour, and we can stop at the farm half way round for a toilet break if needed.
Can I bring food and drink?
You are welcome to bring food and drink on the tour. Alternatively, there are a variety of places where you can have a picnic on the farm before or after your tour.
Can I take photos during the tour?
Absolutely! We encourage guests to take photos, especially of the animals and scenic views of Exmoor National Park.
Is there a gift shop or refreshments available?
We don’t currently have a farm shop or café, so please bring your own food and drink if you’d like — especially for children. There are nearby places to eat in Lynton and Lynmouth.
For large groups, we can arrange refreshments. Please call us to discuss your requirements.
You can purchase copies of Victoria Eveleigh’s books directly from the farm, please ask during your visit. You can have them signed too!
Accessibility & Safety
Is the tour suitable for young children?
Yes! Children love meeting the animals and exploring the countryside. Please make sure they remain seated during the trailer ride and are supervised at all times.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
Yes — there is a wheelchair-accessible trailer available, but it must be booked in advance.

Is the trailer ride bumpy?
The rides travels over farm tracks and fields, so the tour can be bumpy in places. If you have back problems or mobility concerns, please let us know in advance.
Are there any safety rules?
To get the most out of your visit, please follow these rules:
- Follow all instructions.
- Children must be supervised.
- Do not feed animals unless authorised.
- Smoking and vaping are not permitted on the farm.
We ask that you read our terms and conditions before you book your tour.
Can I bring a pushchair or buggy on board?
Pushchairs may not fit comfortably on the trailer but can be stored safely while you’re on the tour. Please contact us before your tour to discuss you needs.
Dogs
Can dogs come on the tour?
Yes — up to two dogs on leads, lying quietly on the wagon floor. They must not sit on the seats.
A shaded car parking spot can be provided if needed.
Weather Conditions
Do I need to bring warm clothes?
West Ilkerton is a hill farm on Exmoor and is exposed to the elements, so please bring warm, waterproof clothes as necessary.
Is the trailer covered?
Yes, the trailer is covered to provide shelter from light rain and sun, but we still recommend dressing for the weather as temperatures can vary.
Will the weather affect my tour?
Tours usually proceed in most weather, but the farm reserves the right to cancel in extreme conditions. If this happens you’ll receive options to reschedule or get a refund.
Cancellations
What if I’m late or no-show?
If you’re late, the tour duration won’t be extended and no refund will be given.
If you fail to arrive or reduce the numbers of your party, the full pre-paid amount is non-refundable

What happens if the tour is cancelled by the farm?
In the case of extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances, the farm may cancel the tour. You’ll be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
