Introduction

West Ilkerton Farm is an Exmoor hill farm located near Lynton within the Exmoor National Park, four miles from the North Devon coast. The geography of the area surrounding the farm is hilly and includes a number of steep paths and roads, some have a 1:4 (25%) gradient in places.

The farm covers some 240 acres of mixed pasture, grassland and moorland and is home to a herd of ‘Red Ruby’ Devon cattle and a flock of Exmoor horn and cross-breed sheep.

There is a number of streams and tributaries which flow within the farm, through steep wooded valleys and marshland which create unique habitats for native Exmoor animals and plants.

West Ilkerton Farm offers outside guided tours of the farm, which take place in a tractor-drawn trailer. We have two trailers, one of which is specially adapted for use by those with wheelchairs or mobility issues.
